Please Save My Wife
Mai-Thi-Dung
On 08/05/2012, I
(Vo-Van-Buu) left prison camp in Xuan Loc after completing a 7-year round term
in the camp of Xuan Loc. I am a Hoa-Hao Buddhism's believer who was arrested and
charged with "disturbing public order" in 2005.
Since my release
from prison so far, I have visited my wife Mai-Thi-Dung three times. She has
been punished with 11 years in prison, also charged with "disturbing public
order" since 2005. Her health condition is very critical. Every time she is
permitted to go out to see me, there are two persons helping her on sides. After
meeting a few minutes, her body starts to shake and speak with weak voice, no
energy.
My wife have
suffered from gallstones and cholecystitis since 2007, but she is never
permitted to be send to the hospital for treatment. Mainly, she takes some cheap
painkillers from prison's clinics. My wife never considers herself guilty and
never admits guilty which is requested from the manager of the prison in order
to be treated in the hospital. Recently, some security guys have come to my home
to ask me to convince my wife to admit guilty. In this regard, my wife and I
have insisted that we fight for religious freedom, we have not violated any laws
and we cannot be pleaded guilty.
I and my wife can
confirm that it is better to die of illnesses untreated in the prison than to admit the struggle of religious
freedom as an act of crime which is called "disturbing public
order".
